Creativity.......not really from me!

I still don't know what happened to my MoJo, but it's so gone..... on the other hand, the weather has been great the last couple of days, so I actually don't mind! Love to sit outside on the deck, enjoy the sun and read.... another hobby of mine!
And, if we are outside, we love to make everything look a little nicer and more colorfull. So, Saturday we decided to finally make a nice border outside the back basement. All the grass and mudd that was there didn't make my windows look better, so... of we went and bougth some nice white marble stones and Henk started to take grass out and make the ground a bit level. Hard work, cause it was kind of warm:-)

This is how it looks now!

Sunday my neighbour told me that one of the garden centres had a great sale going on, 50% off of everything.. Wow, it would have been so nice to be able to spend about $ 1000.-- now... men, would we have bought a lot! But.... no leftover money here, so we bought this great Dracena, nice for outside in the Summer and in the Winter we just put it inside!

All these nice colorfull fluffy plants were so cheap, 48 for 10 bucks! Don't you just love the orange, red and yellow? Well I do!

And we also planted some veggies a couple of weeks ago, see that little tomatoe... oh yummy, that's going to be so nice in a salad!
And yeah,...... a strawberry, boy do I love those!! Wonder how much we get, cause the rabbits love them too, that's why they are protected now!

We are also groing green beens, cucumbers, zuccini's, radish and we even have a blueberrie plant! So, lots of creativity going on outside!!

Marloes had to do a project for her English exam, she could choose from a couple of things, as long as it had to do with the book they'd read "Of Mice and Men" She chose to make the barn and spent several days making it look nice!!

Here are some pictures!

Thanks for stopping by again and have a great day!

Back to normal life!

It's been a week since I posted here....... I am starting to look like a bad blogger! But hey, I had some stuff to do, because the girls needed new things for school, which started today!!!! YEAH back to normal life again! No, just kidding, we had a great summer, but after 10 weeks it's time to get back in the daily routine again! Both my girls are at the age that they absolutely do NOT want pictures taken on the first schoolday, so I'm gonna show you some other ones!

The first weekend we were home again, Henk decided that the garage door needed a new layer of paint, so.... he started sanding and we picked out a nice color for the door and the shutters besides the front-windows!

It doesn't really show, but it's kind of greyish-blue, a very nice color actually! The siding has to be painted to, but that's a big job, so Henk is preparing himself for that:-) We are thinking about an almond color, which looks nice, the neighbor has some paint strips so we could have a look!

And I have to show you all this lovely card..... I'm kind of ashamed cause I got this when we came in Holland as a "Welcome "home" card from my dearest sis Jeanet! And I completely forgot to show it here!! So sorry sis, but it's lovely and has a nice place in the living room!

Sunday night we had a bbq at friends, we had a great time, I didn't make a lot of pictures of the food, but..... about 20 of the gorgeous sunset! How about this one? I just love it and it needs to be scrapped!!

Speeking of scrappin'...... I haven't showed any layouts or other work in a while, which has to do with the holidays, I'm not much of a scrapper when everybody is home! But, I had some lovely pictures of my niece, great papers of My Mind's Eye, and I'm working on a mini-album. Actually, there are 2 pages completed and since the girls are back to school, and my job starts by the end of September, you must know what I'm going to do the rest of this week!!!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! Enjoy the day!

Working outside!

This weekend we've been busy outside, it was the first nice weekend, temperatures were not too high, so very nice to do something. Well, Henk did all the work, I went with him to buy plants and decorative stones to brighten up the outside space a bit!

In the front yard we have a Maple tree, and as we are completely re-decorating outside, (it's all soil now, we're going to seed new grass!) we thought it would be nice to make a circle around the tree. So we bought some scalloped curved stones and..... this is the result!

Mom, look, we've changed the stones next to the garage too, don't you like these a lot better? We do!

We got some perannials too, like this Korean Dwarf Lilac, which grows till about 1,5 metres!

More plants for on the deck, we filled up the pots we had outside, bought a new hanging basket too, and put one at the front of the house which looks very nice!

Marloes is doing co-op at the moment and has to make a project about her work. What's better than a scrapbook if you've got a mom with lots of supplies! So we decided to work on it on the deck, really nice, and we even got sunburned....... not so nice!

And, of course, with the two girls outside,I had to have some new photos of them together! This is one of them, I made more, but...... you have to wait to see those, I ordered them and am planning to make a layout with those photos. Got it all in my head, has to be put on paper now..... oops........

Has the World gone MAD?

Remember my post on Thanksgiving day, with all the photos in the sun at Port Reyerse? Well, I had one photo I just loved and had to scrap, but, I couldn't find the right papers, and more important, no title! So I asked my friends at several scrapgroups, and my very lovely and talented friend Mireille D. came up with a great title! Thanks hon!

I used my Dymo label maker and Thickers from the Dollarama for the title.

Found some Prima's in the perfect colors!

And used my own handwriting for a little journaling.

The idea for the layout came from a layout I saw at Cynthia's website, asked "lift permission" and got it!

And it is cold........ yuk...... and grey,so I guess more snow is coming today! But.... the say on Monday it's getting warmer, and I'm glad, because Winter this early...... no thanks, imagine it can last till about April..... and I don't even like the cold!!!

AJC # 42 and Nature is great!

This week's prompt at Emily's site is: a grateful week summarise, pick one thing, record every day, photos, words, art. be more grateful this week for the little things!

Ok, a very plain and boring card, but that's how I feel today. I'm feeling very very tired and just didn't spent lots of time on this weeks prompt... As you can see, the rest of the week is still to come!
It's not possible anymore, but I have to add something to the card! I'm grateful for the things my mom sent us!!! Nice droppies, chocolate pepernoten (Dutch things, sooooo good!) and some nice t-shirts for Henk and me!! Thanks mom!!!!

Some Fall colors, had to take these pictures on Sunday while driving out and about.... and I want lots and lots more!

I think these leaves have the most gorgeous red color.......

And today, Monday, it's the best Fall weather again, kind of breezy but hey, that's ok. I think after lunch I'll go to the park, see if the ducks are still there, and maybe they want to be in my picture.... Maybe there are beautiful colors there too! So.....to be continued!

We continue........:-) This afternoon I went to the park........ the weather was absolutely gorgeous. I just sat down on a bench, and started making photos, ducks, gees.......wonderful trees..... I really enjoyed myself, and made some nice shots.... I think!

Fall or Summer??

I know, I haven't been posting much this week, and that has it's reasons. The first days of this week, I didn't feel that well, cold, stuffed nose.... just yuk.... Nothing to worry about, just catching a cold I guess. And now.... well, I'm wondering what kind of season it is actually, cause today started like it's supposed to start in the Fall, foggy, about 10 degrees... and than, at about 1 p.m. things started to change drasticly, it became warm, very warm..... (is it really October??)so I decided to sit outside. Wanted to do some scrappin' but hey, Winters are long enough here in Canada, so as long as the weather feels like Summer, I'm enjoying it as much as I can!

(click on the photo's to get a larger view!)
Yep, the end of me.......my feet...... relaxing.....boy, was that nice, the sun was really warm!

Look at that sun...........

Looks great doesn't it?

Some giant fungus on the tree that broke down last year August...

Nature is just amazing!

There are still lots of buds on my Roses of Sharon!!!

And on another bush, the berries start coming....... they look wonderful in the Winter, with snow and ice on them though!

So, I mean...... is it really Fall, or is Summer not giving up yet? If you look at the weather forcast for the next couple of days.... I honestly would say it's still Summer, temperatures like 29 degrees on Sunday and Monday, Thanksgiving...... yes...... I guess we have to put the Turkey on the bbq instead of shoving it in the oven!

And tomorrow, I have to drive to Brantford, and I'm sure gonna bring my camera this time, with all the wonderful Fall colors you see in the trees, just have to stop somewhere and take some pictures! So I guess I'll be back tomorrow!

Fall

I'm still here, have been quiet for a couple of days, just hanging around, reading.... feeling misserable, enjoying the nice weather.... But,..... today it's real fall outside, colder, rain......lots of rain, so, I started scrapping again!
Little detail, love the ribbons and I think the Dollarama knows exactly what kind of colors to sell!

Last Sunday we went to a co-worker of Henk, where we did some pumpkin pickin' and I made this picture. In the post on Sunday, I talked about the fact I just love it....has something special... So, good reason to print it, and go through my paper stash, and feel lucky I still had those Junkitz papers, with the perfect colors for this layout.
Since it was the First day of Fall, that was the perfect title!

Don't you all hate it when you run out of stickers??? No L left for me, so I used the outer sticker lines, cut them out and it looks kind of cool don't you think?

I also found some shipping tags I had hidden somewhere (different sizes, very usefull!) The smallest one is used for the date, the bigger one for the journaling, hidden under the photo and when you pull it out, you see this.

The scalloped edge is made by using a shape cutter template and simply cut it out. (Ya have to be smart if ya can't find scalloped cardstock ha, ha!)
