Dutch yummie treats!!

Over the weekend, my SIL and BIL were here and we were reading a Dutch cookbook. We stumbled into a very good Dutch treat, Bitterballen!
Marloes so desperately wanted to make them, that we headed of to the store to see if we could find the ingredients. We had a bit of a hard time, but managed to get what we needed, and when we came home, we started!

This "yummie" looking stew is the filling, we had cooked beef with beef broth and herbs for about an hour, cut the beef real fine and made a stew with butter, flour and the broth.
After that we had to make little balls of the stew, and roll them through breadcrumbs and egg for 3 times.
They were ready to be put in the deepfryer now!!! (and we had a bit of a taste of the stew and man, was that ever so good!)

This is how they looked when they were done after about 4 minutes... a little musterd with it.........oooooooooh yummie!!!!!!!!!

And Marloes can show you how yummie they were!!
Hope I didn't make you feel hungry now....... LOL

Webster Falls

It's already been 10 days since my last post, but, I'm enjoying my mom's company very much, and hardly spend any time at the computer, so I forgot to update here!

We've done some nice things already, and yesterday we went to Webster Falls, close to Dundas Ontario. A gorgeous area, specially now with all the fall colors! It's not as huge as Niagara Falls, but........ well, just have a look!

Fall colors

Acting silly!
Again, mom and me

As you can see, we had a great time! It just goes by way to fast! So, every day we make the most of it, stay home and do fun things, or go out and see nice areas. Henk and I both have the week off, actually, I'm off next week too, so we can spend more time together, cause those 3 weeks are gone before we know it!

I'll try to update again, all depends on what we are doing, if we make pictures and if they are worth sharing!!

Just one more day..........

Yep, just one more day and we are going to the airport to pick up my mom! She's coming to visit us for 3 weeks, life is sooooo good! It will be so great having her here, doing nice things, chatting, just relaxing and enjoying eachothers company!
Two years ago she came for the first time, last year we went to the Netherlands, and now it's her turn again:-)
We just can't wait..... just one more night ....... the girls are all excited and so are we!

So, I guess the coming weeks I won't be posting that much..... so I leave you with this ATC I made this week, with new stamps, from I Brake for Stamps, awesome store!! Actually, these stamps are by Stampinback in the Netherlands, but for me it's easier to order in the States and I Brake.....sells this line too!
Only the Vive la France stamp is from Cherry Pie, and as I love all things from France, I'll probably see if I can find more stamps!
Thanks for stopping by again, hopefully I will find some time to post, maybe with some nice pictures, you never know!

Some snapshots!

It's been a while, but I finally have time to post something here! Yesterday we took our guest(s) back to the airport and they arrived savely in Holland again! We had a great time with them, and it's really quiet here now.... 3 weeks with 5 people is different, and now it's just the 4 of us again... Well, I guess it will take a couple of days to get used to it again!
Last week Tuesday we took a drive to Port Dover after supper, walked along the beach and at the pier where Marloes took some nice pictures, against the sunlight, and I think they turned out great!

I just love this one of Henk and I, Mark took it and the fact that the sun's shining right through the "opening" between us, gives it a special effect!
Isn't it gorgeous? (and I mean the sunlight LOL)
This one of the girls is good too, Anouk didn't like the fact that the wind was blowing her hair "all over the place" but it just gives it something extra!

At home in the backyard Marloes set the timer of her camera and we had to be really fast, but hey............. say for yourself, don't we look good?
So now it's back to our "normal" life again, and counting the days till it's October and my mom will come again for a visit of 3 weeks. So looking forward to that!
I haven't done anything "crafty" since my last post, but I hope I will find some time for that this week, got 3 days off so I probably will! And I'm waiting for an order, which hopefully will come this week, so I can start playing again! Until then, you have to do it with these snapshots!!

Creativity.......not really from me!

I still don't know what happened to my MoJo, but it's so gone..... on the other hand, the weather has been great the last couple of days, so I actually don't mind! Love to sit outside on the deck, enjoy the sun and read.... another hobby of mine!
And, if we are outside, we love to make everything look a little nicer and more colorfull. So, Saturday we decided to finally make a nice border outside the back basement. All the grass and mudd that was there didn't make my windows look better, so... of we went and bougth some nice white marble stones and Henk started to take grass out and make the ground a bit level. Hard work, cause it was kind of warm:-)

This is how it looks now!

Sunday my neighbour told me that one of the garden centres had a great sale going on, 50% off of everything.. Wow, it would have been so nice to be able to spend about $ 1000.-- now... men, would we have bought a lot! But.... no leftover money here, so we bought this great Dracena, nice for outside in the Summer and in the Winter we just put it inside!

All these nice colorfull fluffy plants were so cheap, 48 for 10 bucks! Don't you just love the orange, red and yellow? Well I do!

And we also planted some veggies a couple of weeks ago, see that little tomatoe... oh yummy, that's going to be so nice in a salad!
And yeah,...... a strawberry, boy do I love those!! Wonder how much we get, cause the rabbits love them too, that's why they are protected now!

We are also groing green beens, cucumbers, zuccini's, radish and we even have a blueberrie plant! So, lots of creativity going on outside!!

***

Marloes had to do a project for her English exam, she could choose from a couple of things, as long as it had to do with the book they'd read "Of Mice and Men" She chose to make the barn and spent several days making it look nice!!

Here are some pictures!

Thanks for stopping by again and have a great day!

Some pictures of last week....

I don't have much to show, just some pictures of the last week..... worked almost every day this past week, and hardly had time to do some scrappin'.... I missed it, and plan to do some tomorrow, but.... whenever I plan something, it always either won't work, or something else comes up:-)

Last weekend the Fair was in town, Marloes and her boyfriend went, and had big fun in the ferriswheel. Henk and I went, and just looked around, nobody gets me in the ferrieswheel!!

After that Marloes and Anouk went in the Polarbear Express and had lots of fun!!

Last Monday, the 13th, it was Thanksgiving here in Canada, and we went to friends of ours who have a pumpkin patch. Big ones, small ones, sqashes, achorns, you name it, they've got it. We could pick whatever we wanted, and here you see it laying in the back of the van........

And this is how they are now, in cute little baskets in my livingroom, looks so nice!

The girls had lots of fun, drove around in the van on the field, a very nice way to practice your driving skills:-)

We all went in the corn maze, managed not to get lost.... and did the quiz, and had almost every question right! We had fun, it was a very nice and warm day!! Probably the last one for this year, cause the temperatures are going down fast..... It's going to freeze tonight they say and I am definately not ready for that yet!

It's so nice, walking in the corn maze and take some shots of the corn on a cob.......

we even took some corn stalks home and it looks nice by the frontdoor!

My scarecrow is still here, love that cute guy, we've put some large pumpkins out, and some small ones too, looks real nice eh?

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment and enjoy the day!

Another card and september sunset!

Yep, another card, the same as in my last post, but these are just so gorgeous and I love making them. Ok, it's a bit work, but then you do have a nice card!

This one is for a special friend, hope she likes it!

The inside, with more poems and quotes from my favorite quote site!

Just the labels with some quotes!

Friday evening I looked outside and saw the most beautiful sunset! I grabbed my camera and ran outside and shot some pictures!

Isn't it beautiful?

It almost looks as if the sky is on fire! I am happy with these!! And now.... I really have to clean up my desk, it is a complete disaster there, every little bit of scrap is laying around, magazines, stamps, flowers....... omg..... I don't know where to start! But I have to, I want to scrap another sunset photo I shot in August, want to scrap another vintage layout, wanne make some more Christmas cards..... so I better start, then maybe tomorrow I can do something:-)

Have a great day!
