Card and some Skinny's!

This card I've made with one of my new Stampotique stamps, love these funky gothic kind of girls/faces!

And Marijke and I are swapping Skinny's (3x5) since a couple of months, these 3 are the ones I've made for her for this month!

Use a picture/stamp of a dog or a cat, it became a dog:-)

Yellow colored skinny, made it kind of Mixed Media

And we used the grid technqiue with an embossing pen. Never did that before, but I actually love how this one turned out, a lot thanks to the stamp I've used I think!

Cards and Tags!

Friends of ours celebrate both their birthdays today, so I wanted to make some cards for them! I used to buy cards, but since I have some stamps, I love making them myself again!

This one is for the birthday "girl"..........

And this one is for the birthday "boy"! I had fun making them, now let hope they like them!!

Guess it was in June/July that Hella and I agreed to do a tagswap. Finally this month we sent them out, and it was a lot of fun making them, totally different than a card or ATC! These two here, I made for Hella...............

And these two gorgeous tags Hella made for me! I love them..... she worked with masks and distress ink and has some awesome stamps... Thanks so much for this wonderful swap, I'm gonna hang these somewhere in my craftroom cause I want to enjoy them for a long time!

Graduations and....oops, some creativity!!

We've got a busy week ahead here! Two graduations... oh boy my girls are getting older and older, when did that happen??

This girl, Anouk, graduates from Elementary school tomorrow.... with gown and all the picture was taken about 2 months ago, but they don't have to wear them during the ceremonies. Just another nice dress and some high heels... accessories, make-up, and she's done! Hope my camera's working, so I can show you pictures of the event later this week!

And this one, Marloes, graduates from highschool Thursday! And they have to wear the gown and cap stuff, oh my gosh, that's going to be so awesome! I'm so proud of them both! 3 Years in Canada, doing great, speaking English like they never learned anything else, having lots of friends......

I think I better take lots of tissues with me the two coming nights!

And yes.... I made some stuff!!! At one of the Yahoo groups I'm a member of, there's a different technique every month and this month it's seredipity!

And this birthday card for my great-aunt with that technique, and I think they turned out nice!


Another birthday card, made it yesterday..... don't look mom, be patient!!!


With this ATC I had so much fun, clear embossing, sponging with ink, stamping.... and that great bee-woman.... love it if I may say so myself:-)


A couple of weeks ago I showed you a 4x4 canvas I'd made, and it was time to give her a little sister, so I made this one! And now they're hanging together in my scraproom, looks great!

Some work from me, some work from others!

Last Friday, June 5, hubby and I had our 22nd Anniversary and I made him this card!

Just to let him know, he still holds the key to my heart! And guess what.... he loved it!(and me too LOL)

This gorgeous card I got from Conny, the owner of Kicostampers I just became a member of! Every month they have a technique challenge and just to make sure I would try it out too, she sent me some embossingpowder, with this gorgeous card!



A Summerswap was organized at Stamping Fantasy , great fun to do, and look at the lovely ATC's I got back! The one with the Eifeltower on it is my own,the others I received! Don't you just wanna go on a holiday if you see that?

Ineke and I had a personal ATC trade, I sent her my "who caught who?" (showed in an earlier post) and she sent me....... these 3 just because........ Well I love them all, specially the Blond Amsterdam, Jeanet, don't you love this eiter???



Well, that's it again, can't help it, it looks like all the MoJo has taken a flight to a better place.... and left me alone and desperate looking for ideas! So hopefully I can show more of my own creativity in a next post!





Oh, coming Wednesday we have a Sports Banquet at Marloes' school.... and from very reliable sources I've heard that she's going to get an award for MIP...(most improved player)! And I'm so proud of her, my poor girl, she's walking on cruches for over 2 weeks now, cause she injured her knee at the soccer finals 2,5 weeks ago! Her knee popped and we still don't know if the tendans are just sprained or torn... she's having physiotherapie now and they want her to go for a MRI, just to be sure nothing is torn inside that knee. Hopefully that won't take too long, but.... I've heard that can take months.... Boy, she doesn't háve months, it's almost Summer holidays!
Anyway I better charge my batteries, so I can take some pictures, if that's possible at all!

Music and card

Challenge time at wijDUS again, the months just flie by, don't know what's happening but it looks like every year goes by faster than the year before!

For this month we choose a theme, Music! Now I gotto be honest, I love music, listen to the radio all day, and sure have my favorites. But sometimes there's a song that does something with me.. and the song "Lord is it mine" by Supertramp, don't know.... there's something to it that just hits me everytime I hear it. And that's a lot cause I've got it on CD (Breakfast in America)

This is what I did, took some cardboard (yep, again!) put some gold paint on it, and used the MME Laundry Line papers the other girls sent me, cause that's an extra this month, we all used papers from that gorgeous line! The picture is taken in one of the parks in my town, I love it there, specially this time of year!

Just a detail of the songtext I used, not the whole text, just the first 3 lines, cause the rest didn't fit, that's what you get when working on 6x12 seize.

So if you've got a special song you love, just stop by and play along!!!

It's sketch time again at wijDUS!!

This is the sketch we've used, created by Yolanda!

Here's what I made of it, a Vintage layout, with a photo of my great-grand parents, made when they got engaged in 1900.



And I also used the sketch for a card, so you see, you can interpret it in any way you want to!

Didn't do that much the last couple of days, and half of what I did, I can't show yet!

But this I can show, a connected3, 3 ATC's that are connected, speaks for itself I think? Used some travel stamps I had for scrapbooking, and chalks to color it and I'm satisfied!!

ATC Wednesday, more cardboard scrappin' and a card

Dresses is the theme at ATC Wednesday, and I love this kind of dresses...

It's probably a simple card, but I like it, fits the style of the dress!

Every now and then I try to figure out what my style of scrappin' is, but I really just don't know! It looks like I like it all, freestyle, clean and simple, vintage, mixed media..... so it must be versitile.... Like now, with the cardboard, I'm totally hooked on it, tear up every box I find just to get my hands on the cardboard and start rippin' it apart!

Used a stamp and tiny alpha's for a sub title.

Paint, a left-over (or inside) from a frame I used for another layout, Twistel (Making Memories), some lace and a colluzle template made this one complete for me! (I just love the fact that I find it hard to throw stuff out, like the Twistel, have that for years, moved with me to Canada, and I found it again ha, ha!)

Another cardboard layout, a mix and match of papers, letterstickers.. and paint!

A statue of a horse you find downtown Leeuwarden, my old hometown. Picture also taken last year during our holiday, and when you look through the lens as a tourist, it looks different than when you used to live there!

Little detail, some flowers in the corner! (don't you like the back of the horsie?)

The last thing is a card, had to change my plans cause I wanted to make an ATC with a puzzle piece on it, but it was to big for the ATC.... so grabbed some papers, started stamping, masking and using distress ink and it became this... I like it, do you?

Lazy week but got plans!

I had no idea the week would fly by like it did! Last Monday I worked, and the rest of the week I was off..... work is slowing down, too bad, could use some extra money for the Christmasdays! But, can't do anything about it!

Monday after work there was a message on the answering machine that my requested book was in, so I got in the car, and went to the library. Tuesday was my day off, so I decided I'd spend it reading........... in this book........

No of course I don't no if you are as fond of reading as I am, or if you like books by Tess Gerritsen, but.... if you do.... be sure to get this one as soon as it comes out! It's her latest, and oh my gosh....is it good! A real pageturner..... so Tuesday was a good day! Wednesday even better, cause I decided I had to finish it, and read till about 4.30 pm..... and was I ever so sad there were no more pages, this is a very, very good book!

As the rest of the week was "me" time, I decided to make some more Christmas cards, they are all the same, except for the papers of course, but very easy and quickly to make!

All the used papers are old Christmas lines by Basic Grey, some Figgy Pudding, Dasher and more. Still like them and it's so nice to use the scraps for cards!

Yesterday I had to be in Brantford, and decided to stop by the LSS there! I know, I just ordered lots of goodies, but a girl can never have enough right?

Got some more Distress Ink and 2 bottles of Crackle Paint, love it..... some Sassafrass papers and cardstock stickers (got plans for that!) and a sheer tab album by Maya Road.

Also 3 papers of the latest Christmas line by Basic Grey, Wassail.... and now I regret I didn't get them all, cause they are really gorgeous. Matching cardstock, makes it easier to use it!

And this is what's on my desk now.... between the rest of the mess:-)

The plan is to make a layout with it, again kind of Vintage.... don't know why but I love that style. Hopefully I get something done this afternoon, if not, weekend is just a night away, and as I heard, work is still slow, so probably some days of next week too! I'm making no promisses, but I hope to show the finished layout soon!

Goodies, layout and card!

Hi there, it's me!!! Yes, got the afternoon off, that's great, I really enjoy it!

Last week I ordered some goodies at my LSS's...... hardly ever do that cause I like to shop and see and touch before I buy, but, as my LSS's aren't as local as I would like them to be, this was a lot cheaper than spending 30 bucks on gas!

This I ordered at The Scrapping Bug, a store in Kitchener, about 1,5 hours from here! Love the mini-alphas, I couldn't find them in a store close by!

My Mind's Eye Snowed In..... aren't those papers gorgeous? Don't like them as much as Be Merry,but they were all sold out, guess more people liked those better ha, ha.! This, and what you see under here is ordered at the Memory Keeper in Hamilton, about 1 hour from here!

And more BG, Boxer this is, love that line and since I'm into Vintage, I thought these papers were perfect! Got some Distress ink too, and got to play with it yesterday, because I was enjoying a COMPLETE day off!!!!!

This picture was taken on October 13th, Thanksgiving in Canada. We spent the afternoon at friends who have a pumpkin farm, and a gorgeous cornfield. I just took some pictures, and loved this one, altered it a bit in PhotoFiltre, distressed the edges of the paper with the distresser, and with Tea Dye distress ink, used leaves and more stuff of the cornstalk at my frontdoor, some flowers, bling, and spent 45 minutes cutting out the title!
Another detail of some........whatever it may be, it's from the cornstalk!!

And I told you, I'm off this afternoon so decided to make a Christmas card, saw something like this in a magazine, only the Santa and text was done with a stamp. As I don't have a stamp like that, I used a Christmas font on my computer, and I really like how it turned out!
