Some scrappin'

Did some scrappin' the last couple of days, when I wasn't baking cupcakes! So yummy, lemon yogurt... no photos unfortunately, they were gone before I had the chance to take some!
And I'm posting here to pass some time while I'm waiting to see "landed" on the site of Toronto airport.... my hubby was in Dallas TX this week and I knew the plain had a delay but it should have landed like a half hour ago.... and it still isn't.... don't like that.... So I'm going to bore you a bit! Here we go!

A totally different layout, inspired by what I saw in Creatief met Foto's (Creative with Photos) a Dutch scrapbooking magazine I got last year from my friend Mireille when I was in Holland!
They idea comes from Natasha Verbeek, she designed the layout I saw in the magazine, and I loved it so much! Had almost an excact same photo.... so I started!
Cut of a part of the cardstock so it has a complete different size than normally. Mixed and matched some Sassafrass papers, used my Coluzzle templates again, and traced the letters with a white gelpen. But the most fun is using cardboard from which the top layer is torn off. Put some paint on it, and voilá, you're done!
This photo is taken in Leeuwarden, where I used to live, bikes along the canal....so Dutch....so normal... But when you live in a country where biking isn't as normal as you are used to, it's so much fun to take a picture of it and scrap it!

I love that little birdie, so stamped it on some light pink paper and cut it out!

***

I love detailed pictures, so here's one again, grungeboard painted and used crackle medium on it! And of course my favorite blingbling!

My oldest.... a very smart girl, but not always sure of herself.. like this day, when we went to B. and it was still really Winter weather.... and all the messy stuff on the road landed on the front windowshield... which is no fun if your windshieldwhiperfluid (scrabble anyone??) needs to be refilled.... and you don't have any in the car.... So, we stopped at a gas station and bought some! But then.... where to put it in??? Ok, I know how a car drives, but the inside, ha, ha, I don't wanna know that, which proves to be kind of stupid,... cause now we didn't know what to do!

So, Marloes just asked a man who walked by and said "Excuse me sir, can you help us and tell us if this is the right spot to put the fluid in?" "You see, I'm blond, you can't see that cause I'm wearing a hat, but.... well,... you never know right!"
OMG, I thought I was gonna pee in my pants.... but the man was so friendly, didn't even laugh, and helped us..... We were happy, and could drive savely with clear sight!!!

Just love that skull and thought it needed some blingy eyes!

Thanks for stopping by again!

Oh, and hubby just called, he landed savely on Canadian ground again.. pfew....

Wallhanger, lift LO and new sketch at wijDUS!

Showtime again!! I've been doing stuff the last couple of days and so happy with it! First of all I made a Wallhanger. At the Dutchfreestylegroup we had a COL last week, but I didn't have time, so I finished it this week!

A little detail of heat embossed grungeboard letters!

The wallhanger itself, my youngest with her new glasses!

And another detail of the blingbling I added with the Hotfix tool!

The next layout is a lift from my friend Mireille. I know, hers is much more beautiful, but.. she used paint, I didn't, so......that's why ha, ha!

This is Mireille's layout, about her son's wonderful pouting lip!

And this is blingbling detail of mine!!!

And this is what I've made of it! My oldest daughter playing golf..... And when the layout was finished I realized I had the pictures in the wrong order.... and she's no star at all cause she misses..... Ha, ha, so much for a detailed scrapper.... never thought of it! But, I still like it a lot!

More bling, I just love that Hotfix!!!!

Oh, and if you have a spare moment between now and the end of the month.... stop by at wijDUS, cause today it's Sketch time again and we all did a sketch of the hand of our own Peggy!

This is what I made of it.... my 2 silly girls.... So stop by, see what we all did, print out the sketch and start working! There's a great prize this month too..... you never know, you might even win this time!!
And finally an award I got from Rini, she nominated everybody that visits her blog, and I think that's an excellent idea!

So, please put it on your blog, you all are such an inspiration and it's a joy to visit each of you!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Altered box, Award and a layout.

From a friend of mine, Jacqueline, I got the idea to alter a wooden box and put all my vintage goodies in there. So, I went to the Dollarama, bought a box, and started having fun.
The outside is painted kind of "old green" and I decorated it with an old line of scrapbooking paper I found. Used some stamps and flowers, and made my own thickers using foam and the sidekick!

The inside of the lid is decorated with paper too, and I glued some old fashioned looking ribbon along the sides and finished the corners off with buttons.

On the outside are some paper strips, stamped with a border stamp. (I used Tea Dye distress ink for all the stamping.)

And this is what's inside......all the vintage goodies I got from friends in the Netherlands! I'm so happy with it, and now I have to clean up my desk again to give it a nice spot!

It's award time again, I love those, and I especially love this one!!! Elly gave it to me, just because she thought I deserved it..... thanks so much girl, I really appreciate it!

Now I'm supposed to pass it on to 6 other people..... which is getting harder and harder, because I love each and every one I visit and who visits me. All your blogs are so inspriring and you all deserve an award like this, so..... consider yourself awarded by me and take it!

Some posts ago, after Christmas I showed a collage of all the Christmas pictures I made last year! I had it printed, and used it for a layout, cause I had so much, that it's almost impossible to use them all, besides in a mini-album and I didn't want that:-)
The layout is a lift from one I saw on the internet, but I have no clue who made it.

I used some rub-ons I got a long time ago, they are in silver, so kind of hard to see. Grungeboard stars, painted silver, and a piece of lace.

Photobucket
And this is the layout.. kind of "busy" with all the pictures in one, but..... I still like it very much! The papers used are Basic Grey Wassail, and "made-myself-thickers" again.

The vintage looking picture I found on the internet and printed it, looks kind of nice I think!
Thanks for stopping by again!

A gift * Freestyle (and I mean FREESTYLE)

Finally, after being sick since last week Thursday, I'm back on track! Don't know what was wrong with me, just headaches, burning eyes, a voice that kept on being weird and not even a sore throat, and very very tired....... Not nice, because it meant that I could not go to the party we had last Saturday from Henk's work, so no nice dinner for me at the Manderin in Hamilton, and no fun at the Casino in Niagara Falls..... poor me........ Ah well, it was nice if Henk would have come home with $ 100.000,-- but..... well, you know what they say..... lucky in love.........blahblahblah........
Yesterday I started to feel a little better and than the mailman came.... and look what he put in my mailbox!!!!!

Oh my gosh, these gorgeous stamps from the Creatie in the Netherlands, I am so totally in love with these!! And I didn't order them, no way, my dear and sweet friend Jenny bought them for me, sent them all the way over the Ocean, and ....... it's a gift!!!! Jen, I love you, thanks so much!! Got some layouts in mind on which I can use a couple of these stamps, hope to show them soon!

She also sent me my first Christmas card of this year, thanks sweetie, it is so nice!!!!

And just a couple of minutes ago I finished this layout, I had the idea in mind for a few days, but didn't feel good enough to do some scrappin'.
The last couple of layouts I showed were Vintage, but..... this is Freestyle, and I mean FREESTYLE and I love it!!! Had so much fun!

I used my cupcake stamp by Maya Road, built it up out of different papers........

Finally used some tickets I had laying around since before Summer.......

Photobucket

Got my new Sassafras papers I bought 2 weeks ago, and started cutting, tearing, writing, stamping and painting (used crackle medium on the crowns), used some lace, even the lovely border they have on the new paperlines now..... and I like it!

I used a Autumn Leaves border stamp, a little hard to read, but it says "Remember happy moments". Oh, and the girls.... are my two daughters!! Come to think of it, I guess I have to make another one, cause they wouldn't like it if only one of them had it in her album!

Thanks for stopping by, I love to read comments, and enjoy the day!

Vintage, vintage and....... more vintage!

Finally I've made enough layouts and I can show you something! Since last Sunday I've been scrappin' like crazy, love it, and as the title says, it's all about Vintage.....

This is just a little detail, of pp, lace and a stamp, all distressed with Ranger Distress ink Vintage Photo, I've even used it for the stamping (stamp is by Autumn Leaves)

The girl on this picture is my Great Aunt at the age of 5! Oh my gosh how I love those vintage/heritage photos!

Some Prima Flowers, bought ages ago, my new Tiny Alpha's and I'm so terribly in love with them!!!!!! And... on top of the photo a frame I've made myself, love those frames, can't get them anywhere closeby, so I used a Making Memories journaling paper, traced it, scanned it at about 80% and had the perfect size for my frame. It's painted with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint Wallnut Stain, which is great to work with! (like to have much more colors, so I better win if I'm in the casino next Saturday he, he!)

***
This next layout I did Monday, but I'm not excactly sure if I'm completely satisfied with it.

Some handmade and distressed "flowers"

Photobucket
I've used all Basic Grey Periphery on this layout, distressed all the papers, cut out a piece to fit in the photo, and journaled on the layout. Maybe that's why I don't like it as much..... no idea! Oh, and if you think it's not all straight..... you are right.... yuk.....but I can't get the papers off without tearing, so...... I'm leaving it like it is!

***

And the last one for now. I've had so much fun with this one, came up with the idea all by myself, isn't that genius? (I love to lift layouts I find on the www so this is very good of me!!)

A grungeboard key, distressed with ink, flower with metal emb. from the Dollarstore, even as the bling-brad. Old buttons from my friend Jacqeline, and the "thickers" are made out of foam and my Sidekick!

The pp is a very old line by K&Company, the photo is altered on the computer, a bookpage, and lacy kind of paper, don't know by which manufacturer. All the papers, the key, the flower and even the doily are altered with Ranger Distress ink Tea Dye.

The bears..... are made by my friend Jacqueline, she showed this photo a while ago at the Freestyle group we are both members/moderators of, and I loved it so much that I asked for it, and finally I've made a layout with it. Hope you like it Jacqueline!

Again a detail, of the lace under the photo and my so loved Tiny Alpha's!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Goodies, layout and card!

Hi there, it's me!!! Yes, got the afternoon off, that's great, I really enjoy it!

Last week I ordered some goodies at my LSS's...... hardly ever do that cause I like to shop and see and touch before I buy, but, as my LSS's aren't as local as I would like them to be, this was a lot cheaper than spending 30 bucks on gas!

This I ordered at The Scrapping Bug, a store in Kitchener, about 1,5 hours from here! Love the mini-alphas, I couldn't find them in a store close by!

My Mind's Eye Snowed In..... aren't those papers gorgeous? Don't like them as much as Be Merry, but they were all sold out, guess more people liked those better ha, ha.! This, and what you see under here is ordered at the Memory Keeper in Hamilton, about 1 hour from here!

Some Basic Grey Granola and Archaic

And more BG, Boxer this is, love that line and since I'm into Vintage, I thought these papers were perfect! Got some Distress ink too, and got to play with it yesterday, because I was enjoying a COMPLETE day off!!!!!

A small detail of the folded corner

Photobucket

This picture was taken on October 13th, Thanksgiving in Canada. We spent the afternoon at friends who have a pumpkin farm, and a gorgeous cornfield. I just took some pictures, and loved this one, altered it a bit in PhotoFiltre, distressed the edges of the paper with the distresser, and with Tea Dye distress ink, used leaves and more stuff of the cornstalk at my frontdoor, some flowers, bling, and spent 45 minutes cutting out the title!

Another detail of some........whatever it may be, it's from the cornstalk!!

And I told you, I'm off this afternoon so decided to make a Christmas card, saw something like this in a magazine, only the Santa and text was done with a stamp. As I don't have a stamp like that, I used a Christmas font on my computer, and I really like how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
