Happy Valentine's Day to all of you and for me it's my Birthday too!! And as I don't like celebrating birthday's I'm not doing anything special today! Maybe... we'll go to the theatre, there's a good movie playing!

Yep, today's my birthday, while most parts of Canada and America celebrate Valentines Day.... I just got a year older.. darn:-) Ah well, still feel like 30 something so who cares right!

Got this!!! A nice bright colored tote! Love it, and I'm gonna put all my stuff in it, and hopefully my desk isn't that messy anymore!!

Another hobby of mine, reading and definately John Grisham! Every year my mom used to buy me the latest novel of him.... and even now, when I'm here in Canada, I got the latest, isn't that great!! Mom, thanks so much, I'm sure I will enjoy this one as much as all the others you got me!

And..... I also got this!!! A baking pan, love those things! A really yummie chocolate bar, Toblerone, don't you just love these?? Nice body wash by Dove and....... a VCR/DVD combo, isn't that great!? We had a DVD, but that thing didn't record, and how many times does it happen that you have 2 or more things you wanna watch? Well, lots of times! So my dear DH surprised me and got me this! So happy, cause tomorrow night I have my party, and Celine Dion is on tv......... ha, ha, I can record it now!!!

Ok, of to get dressed, still in my pj's here and I'm gonna stack my tote with goodies!!

Happy Birthday Henk!

Yeaaaah after all the Christmas celebrations we just keep on going with food, drinks, cake and so on....... today my dear hubbie turns 45!!! and that's worth a party!

Not that there are gonna be lots and lots of people, just family and friends, but.....wait 5 more years he, he!! At the moment he's in the basement, enjoying his birthday present, yep, playing the guitar...... auch my ears..... please dear, play the whole song at once!!

Tomorrow I'm going to make a Cherry Cheese Cake, and I will post a photo here, so you all can take a bite ok?

Things that make you Happy!

That is the first challenge on a new blog, House of Inspiration! Six talented Dutch girls, who love freestyle, but also scrap... "normal"! As I love freestyle too, and the normal way also, I decided to take the challenge and mixed it up a bit. Gave me a good reason to scrap this photo of my youngest daughter on her birthday July 11th. The look of total surprise....... worth millions to me, and... that really makes me happy!!

I used Junkitz Salsa, just love the bright colors it has! Some rick-rack, staples, foam letters from the Action (Holland!), rub-ons from the Dollarama (Canada!) and inked the edges a bit. Can't wait for the next challenge girls!!

Happy Birthday Anouk!!

My girl, Anouk, very sad yesterday night, after spending the complete afternoon in the hospital.... and finding out that she did broke her wrist after all..... just a day before her 12th birthday......

Sweet Sixteen!!

Sixteen years ago she was born....5 weeks early, a tiny little ooooh so little girl, and were we proud parents!! She grew and grew and today... she turned sixteen, my firstborn girl.. and you don't see a thing of that tiny little baby anymore, no way, she's a pretty young woman now, almost as tall as I am... and very very lovely! This was her first birthday in Canada, bit strange, but fortunately grandma was here to cellabrate it with us all!!

Happy Birthday my dear!!!!!

She had to blow out the candles, and make a wish.....wonder what she wished for!

Her bd present, a new cellphone, she wanted that so much, she also got a lot of money, so tomorrow it's shopping day in Brantford:-)) And the t-shirt she's wearing she got from her sister, who picked it out herself, good taste Anouk!!

We had a nice day, weather changed and it was kind of chilly this morning, but now, 7.30 pm we're sitting outside!!

....... The touch of card making is still in me!! Yeaaaaaah happy me:-) For years and years that was my passion.. cards..... lots and lots of them in my house, bought new things when they came in the stores, and had so much fun doing it. And then.. scrappin' came looking round the corner, and I never made a card again, but now.... this Saturday, my daughter turns sixteen!!!!! So, as I thought that was pretty special, I had to try it again LOL. I had a nice stamp, cut some squares, printed the text on them and placed it all on a card, and yes, I like it!! Hope Marloes does too, we'll know that Saturday!!

More Birthday gifts!

Yesterday I had my birthday for the family and good friends here in Canada, easier on a Friday evening! And look what I got!!!!

A box filled with 40 very nice and beautiful ribbons! Boy, that was a very big surprise for me! Love, love, love it!!! Can't wait to start using them!! Also got a recipe book for the slowcooker, yum!! and chocolates, more yummie!!!! We had a nice evening, and now back to reality! Still got a nice cake left though, good for the weekend and my weight:-))

Before I forget, Marloes got her report card this week and that was great! She passed all her exams, had good marks, and earned all the credits she needed! So proud of her!!!

Birthday gifts!

First of all, I wanna thank everybody who sent me an email, ecard, or whatever for my birthday yesterday! It was really hartwarming to read all your wishes and the way you all understood how difficult it was, the first birthday in another country! But, the fact that the girls had a snowday, was great, I wasn't alone, we had fun cleaning up the driveway, and have sore backs now:-(

Ofcause my mom called, my mother in low, my brother, had a call from "my sis" Jeanet, which was a big surprise, I really liked it, thanks girl!!! I also Skyped with Eliane, bit later then we planned, cause my sister in law surprised me with a visit! She always has to work on Wednesday's but because of the weather she cancelled some appointments! So that was nice too! Eliane, was good talking to you again!! We should do that more often!!

Ok, than the gifts. I had my gift from Henk and the girls already in November, a brandnew digital camera!!!!!

I've had so much fun with it already, makes great pictures, much much better than the one I had. But...... yesterday the suprised me with a small Valentines gift, real cute!!

A basket with a cute little bear, holding a rose, and nice chocolates!! The sure are yummie!! My mom gave me bodylotion and a lipstick, so I had a good birthday! Friday evening we'll have family over for cake, icecream and......... who knows??? And yes, auch...... I'm 42 now.... that hurts:-)))

Last night and overnight we had a storm snow, well, actually we still do! It just keeps on going, no schoolbusses so the girls are at home today! Not bad, it's my birthday, so we're going to make the best of it...... doing what? Well, cleaning the driveway for example;

If you try to walk, the snow is up to your knees, that much fell last night!

So, we'll see how we will spend the day, think we're gonna go outside again to finish cleaning the driveway! Bundle up is a very good idea:-)

Birthday Presents!!

February 14th is Valentines Day, but....... also MY BIRTHDAY!! Of cause my mom wanted to send me some presents, and asked what I wanted. Well, that's a very good question...... no idea at all! So we decided we're going shopping when she comes here, that's so much more fun!

But, good old mom couldn’t think about not sending me anything, so she packed a couple of things and I got it today! YES the Dutch sauces we love and miss so much, Dutch droppies!!!! (the girls went nuts!), scrapbook embellishments, (they are so beautiful mom, thanks!!) pillow/cushion cases for the sofa in perfect colors, and……….. GLUE!!!!!!! MY FAVORITE GLUE!!!!!!! that I always use to glue my scrapbook papers! I know I told her I needed it, and asked if she good bring some when she’s coming, but never guessed that she would sent me some for my birthday! Also there are 2 presents still wrapped, and they will stay that way till the 14th! cause that’s my birthday!

Mom, I already talked to you on the phone, but thank you so much!! This was a great surprise and… the cushion cases look great on the sofa! Love you!
