Paper Adventure '08 * Some cards

Today I guess Elise had a bad day, and would have loved to stay home! That's why the new operation was called "Quiet"..... What do you, or don't you like about Quiet?

Honestly, I love quiet...... want to know why? Click on the picture to read my journaling!

No scrapping today, but I made cards, needed some, and I used to make them a lot, until scrapping became my addiction. But.... there are very nice crafting magazines and books, like the book I got from my "sis" Jeanet, and the one above is out of that book! Loved it so much I had to make it! Someone who is a very very good friend is gonna get this card!

Sometimes you tell people you'll send them a card, and it takes ages till you've got the perfect one! The person who gets this, sent me some great stuff, so when I can get myself to go in the car and stand the heat (a/c is broke........auch......) I'm gonna get a stamp and it will arive in her mailbox!!

And then I keep forgetting one very important thing!!! On June 28th, so a while ago, my sister Jeanet gave me this award!

Who gets the "Brillante Webblog Award"? Websites and blogs, which by its currency, the issues of choice and for their designs are especially noteworthy. I know I have to give this award to at least 7 other people, but...... everybody I wanted to give it to, has already got it from someone else! That's what you get when you forget important stuff!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Card * Say it.... * Paper'08

Next Friday the 11th, my youngest is having her 13th birthday, so, we had to have a card, and if you are creative, and scrap, and every now and then make a card.... you make it yourself:-)

The inspiration for this card came from the book Scrapcards, which I got from my sis Jeanet, and she actually made the card I lifted, with totally different papers, but I like it a lot! Lets hope Anouk does too!
***
Say it in Scrap, a new challenge, scrap something new, something you haven't seen before, an emotion you've never scrapped about before........

Well....... I haven't scrapped about emotions.... and have pictures about that subject, but sometimes it is just hard to scrap those...... But now I did. From a year ago when my mom came over for a visit...boy....those emotions kept coming and they still do when I look at pictures from that time........

Photobucket

(papers used BG Boxer, Blush and Perhaps and sticker letters, Prima Flowers, buttons, lace, Gel-a-Tin clock stamps and black Zig writer)

Paper'08 a new operation up and running! ART...... ha, that's a good thing...... Just journaled about what art means to me! As always without pictures, which is getting real hard sometimes!!

A bit blurry, but if you wanna read my journaling, click on the picture!!

Shopping * Paper'08 * More shopping:-)

I'm still here!! It has been a while since I posted I think, a well, that has to do with the fact that it's Summer holidays!!! And we had a busy week, I really don't know where this week went, it really flew by! Anywho....... I did some shopping, last Saturday we went to Hamilton and I had to visit the scrapstore, as you can imagine.
Look at these cool stamps!!! I love them, and those flowers are just adorable don't you think?

Some My Minds Eye papers, and of course some Basic Grey, no plans for it yet, but they called out for me, so...... I had to have them! No, just kidding, I wanna make some cards and there is a layout in my mind, it just won't come out yet. Hopefully next week!

***

A new operation at Paper'08, already done on Wednesday, just not posted yet, so here we go!

AND FOR THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE : What has been GOOD for you so far in 2008? What are you doing? What is making you happy? What is GOOD?

If you click on the picture, you can read what's been good for me this year!!

***

I know I'm bad, but..... yesterday I did some shopping again:-) We had to go to Brantford, Marloes had bought a short last Saturday but it didn't fit good, so we had to change it. Very good excuse to stop at the scrapstore there, as it was on the way to the mall!

Here's what I bought, ink, tickets, flowers by Bazzill, very cute clearstamps for just $ 1,-- each and across the street is another store, which sell scrapbook stuff also, so so bad!!! and they had the travel stamps! Very good reason to buy them with our trip to Holland coming up in only 3,5 weeks don't you think?

And I just could not resist these lovely Daisy D's papers... I have to get some different papers than the Basic Grey I always buy and these called out for me!

This all has to wait to get used, cause later today we're leaving for camp! My BIL and SIL have there holidays and invited us over for the weekend, so I got some packing to do, especially lots of bug spray! Some very nasty bug bit me last Tuesday and now I've got a pretty bad infection, even went to the Walk-in Clinic and got antibiotics...... poor me:-( It probably was either a black flie or sand flees, they seem to have a very bad poison to which I am allergic. My feet are more then twice the size the are supposed to be, and my leg..... well forget about that one, it looks real bad! So, we are gone for the weekend and I hope to see you all back next week!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Peace * Home * New way of cooking * School's OUT

It's been almost a week, but I'm back LOL
what gives you that "peaceful easy feeling"? is it laying on the beach? the moment the kids go to bed at night? a glass of wine and a favorite movie??or what are your thoughts on the state of the planet? could there ever be peace?tell us all about what "peace" brings to mind for you.

A new challenge at Category Stories and I wanted to play along all week, but it was just to freakin' warm in my scraproom! Not that it isn't now.. oh men, it's so humid.... yuk! But, a girl's gotta do what a girl's got to do, so.... here is my Peace place!

Photobucket

I still had some Sassafrass Owl Palls laying around, and lifted a layout a friend made, loved doing that, so no own inspiration.....that's gone with the warmth:-(

Close up of the journaling, just an ordinary day in October......

Week 26 already, don't know why time goes faster when the years go by. Anyway, another prompt for Paper '08

I decided to make a part 2 for all the prompts cause my book is way too full, so I'm putting the next half year in this one!

***

Since we live here, I'm doing my cooking and baking on/in an electric stove.... and I absolutely did NOT like that. Don't ask me why, but if you are used to cooking on gas... electric is a real PITA......... (exusez le mot!)

So, finally, after using this "thing"......

I am now using this gorgeous looking GAS STOVE!!!! And I can't tell you all how pleased I am with that! Must be my imagination, but it really looks like my supper is done sooner than on electric..... Well, who cares, I love this thing and the best part is, when the power is out, I CAN STILL MAKE SUPPER!!!!! he, he, he!

***

Last point of the day.......SCHOOL'S OUT! And my girls are happy...... if I am, not sure yet! They've done great this past school year, Anouk goes to grade 8 after Summer, had great marks on her report card and I just can't believe next year she's graduating already from Elementary School. I'm (or we are) very proud of her, her second year in Canada, and she is absolutely doing a wonderful job with her language!

Marloes, if off for a week already, she did C0-Op last semester and worked at Henk's place, installing furnaces in the Winter and airconditionings in the Spring/Summer. She had a great time, did a good job, and....... earned 6 credits by working a full time job! She doesn't have her report card yet, but I sure hope (and am knowing it for sure actually) that she's passed to grade 12! Another one that can graduate next year, from High School!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the day!

Catching up with Paper'08!

Catching up, sometimes kind of hard... but I managed! Don't know why I got behind, or maybe I do, I just didn't feel like doing pages..... but hey, 4 weeks is a little too much, so back on track for me!

Operations #21 and #22Trust and Favorites.

Operations #23 and #24, Before+After and Water

And the last one, Operation #25 Play! I don't know why the images can't be enlarged, so, if you can't read the journaling, sorry!!

This is how my Operation book looks so far, almost a half year in it.... and it's getting kind of tricky to fit the pages..... I guess I have to get larger binder-rings.......

Oh, before I forget, last week I got the results of the X-rays and everything is healing ok. New bone is starting to grow, so that's a good thing. I still have some pain, but it's getter better and better by the day! Thanks for all your sweet emails/comments, that really means a lot to me, and has helped me through the last 8 weeks!

Paper Adventure '08 caught up!, goodies and a card!

Finally, this week I felt up to catching up on the Paper'08 operations! I missed 4, that's a lot, cause most of the times mine is done on the day Elise puts it on her blog!

#17 Something New (click on the image to read the journaling)

#18 5 Senses

# 19 Details

# 20 Three Words (you had to tell something about yourself in 3 words!)

So, I'm all done now, and ready for the next operation!

As you can see on Operation #17 I used a very cute stamp of a bike and a little fence, you see them here, my friend Linda sent them to me and they arrived just in time, cause I was desperately waiting to use them! She also sent some other goodies with it, and one of the shaker sticker is used on operation #20!!

Then this gorgeous button card and one of these Gingerbread men arrived Monday, all the way from Poland to Canada, and I got them from Michelle, a good friend from a challenge last year by Emily Falconbridge! I've emailed you already Michelle, but thanks so very much for those wonderful pieces of art!

Last but not least I want to thank you all for visiting my blog, and hardly getting any visits from me! I'm a bad blogger these days, but typing all this took me almost half an hour cause I have to stand up and walk around all the time..... I am doing better, but still not there. Tuesday I went to see the doctor and she told me that even six months after the fall, I can have trouble with it and it might still hurt if I sit for a long time! Well, that's absolutely something to look forward to don't you think? Especially when we leave for Holland, which is an 8 hour flight...... Ah well, I have to take it day by day, and take it easy, but I'm so very glad I'm able to scrap a bit. Eventhough it can take me days to finish a page, it gives me something to do besides zapping on the TV!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the day!

Paper'08 #16 and Category Stories

Tell me, what is inspiring you this week?
Where do you draw your inspiration? What helps you get in the mood to make or do something? What do you see, or hear, or taste, or touch, or smell that makes you think?

That's the new operation at Elises Paper'08 challenge!

Great idea, cause there are so many things we get inspiration from, it's a good thing to put them in writing! I used the normal stuff, Bazzill, Provo Craft papers, flower, button, my new sawingmachine!!!!! and I found that cute little bird stamp last Saturday and just had to have it!

Next is Category Stories, they came up with a new challenge yesterday and I got to scrap now, who knows how much time I've got left once I start my new job!!
Anyway, the new challenge, here's what they say on the blog!
SHOES - what are they to you? Do you love wearing them, loathe shopping for them, or fall over in pure bliss when you find that most fab pair of sliver ballet flats with the cute leather detailing and buckle on the side.......(ok, um, that last one may have just been me...*ha*)

Yes I know, as always a detailed picture, but I like them so much!!

Honestly, I don't have that much going on with shoes, it is that I have to have them, but being thrilled to shop for shoes...... no way! Don't even have that many but I desperately need new ones...... so I'm afraid I have to shop..... And because I don't like shoe shopping, sometimes stupid things happen, like what this layout is about....

Photobucket

I totally stepped out of my comfort zone here, went freestyle like I've never done before, I like it, but have to get used to it I think.... although it was done pretty fast!

Very old Doodlebug papers are used for this one, I guess these are the first scrapbook papers I've ever bought. (yes, I know, I keep everything!)

But going through all those old papers, I thought this was a nice combination! The idea for the layout came this morning when I saw some inspiration on a yahoogroup I'm a member of Dutch Freestyle group I did not completely lift it, stayed a bit on the save site, but it's a start!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Paper Adventure '08 #15

I cannot believe we have made it THIS FAR without a food related page. Because what is the ONE THING we have all been doing every single day for the last 98 days?
Eating.
Food is fuel, yes, but it is also entertainment. And interesting. It can be very complex or very simple. It is a part of every single day.
So, tell me: What is for dinner tonight?

That's Elise's operation for this week...... well.... nothing special today!!

Some Provo Craft and Doodlebug stickers for the title (don't you hate that, when you run out of stickers?? Well I do.... my pink ones are almost used up..)

Some bling, a ribbon, an office clip and datestamp and my page was done! Wanna know what's for dinner tonight? (or it might be another day this week you read this, anyway..... today's Tuesday and this is my menu!) Click on the page please!!

Paper Adventure '08 #14

I just love it when Elise posts her operation early in the morning! No clue what time she lives, but I read it at 7.30 am (eastern time that is for me!) That gave me plenty of time to think this one over, during breakfast, taking Anouk to school, putting laundry in the washer.... And it wasn't even that hard this week.

Think, this week, about something that you are looking forward to in April.
Something specific...like a birthday party. Or a vacation. Or a dentist appointment. Something you have on your calendar coming up. If you look at your calendar and realize there is nothing up ahead you are looking forward to, then please...CREATE SOMETHING you are excited about. Call up a friend...sign up for a workshop...schedule something you cannot wait to do.

Well, as the journaling reads, my life is "very exciting" but when I started to look at the calender, there were a couple of things I can really look forward to!

Photobucket
So, here's my page for this week, my very first project in my new scraproom, and now I'm going to start painting Anouk's new room.... Just to keep busy... don't have any other layouts or projects to show, cause all the redecorating keeps me pretty busy and I love it!
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Got MoJo#11 and Paper Aventure'08

The Got Mojo Girls continued their Dr. Seuss theme and this time you had to use one of the quotes they have on their site and you could use one of the bookcovers as sketch or inspiration for you layout. I think everybody liked one of the quotes so much, you see it almost everywhere and yes.... so did I!

If I've used one of the book covers, no clue, I just sat down and did something I liked,..... so, maybe I'm disqualified now.... I don't mind, I had fun! The picture is old (2006) the papers are old (BG Lollipop), but I still like those, so why not use them! Picture is really silly, the journaling explains it!

Photobucket

I also used some felt flowers and blingbling I got from 2 friends in Holland and finally one of the journaling spots I bought a while ago, great stuff that is!

***

SPRING is the new Paper'08 operation for this week! Elise would like for us to share our opinions about spring, well, that wasn't so hard!

I started with a ribbon flower for which I read the tutorial in the newsletter of Lifetime Moments I got in the mail this morning! That was fun to do, and if you use wider and shorter length of ribbon you will get a more pleated look. The size I used was about 17" and about half an inch wide, so this flower is kind of bulky, but I really like how it came out!

Photobucket

I actually start to like it, had my doubts last week, but I got such nice comments from all of you,... that gave me a sort of "support" to go on with it. It's becoming kind of a weekly diary with my thoughts about a certain topic.

***

At the moment I don't post that often, that has to do with the fact that I'm pretty busy painting. Anouk and I decided to change rooms, so my scraproom is going to be larger and she's closer to the livingroom, which she likes better! I wanted pink... so I bought pink... and it's really, really PINK...... I think I'm scrappin' in Candy Town in a couple of days (if DH is willing to change all the shelves and stuff and leave the bathroom downstairs alone for a bit he, he!) Yesterday night he was such a dear and painted the last wall that desperately needed a second layer, so now I'm going to clean things up there. There's still a desk in the room, that has to go to the basement for a while, and as I'm "home alone" that has to wait till tonight! So, it might be that I'm not online for a day..... or two..... hopefully not, but then you'll know where I am!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Paper Adventure '08 and MoJo is back!

Elise was on PST today, (guess PST time? no clue LOL) so she was later then usual...... and when she finally posted this weeks operation, I had to go and get a haircut! But, that gave me time to think about my ideas of luck, or being lucky.

So, when I came home, I typed my thoughts and made a simple page! I have to admit, it's getting harder every week without using pictures and using the same colors over and over again, not really boring, but...... ah well, my book is going to be in style for the rest of the year, and that gives a nice look to it!
(if you click on the picture, you can read the journaling!)

***
While I was waiting for the new Paper'08 operation, I decided to pick up the papers and photo I had laying here for several weeks and do something with it.

To be honest, this layout is a scraplift from a layout a friend sent me, hoping it would bring my MoJo back to me! Well...... for weeks it didn't but now...... yes!

Photobucket
Papers are by Sassafras, Starry Night, all double sided, and I picked the sides with the best colors he, he! Completely happy with it, how about DH...... no clue, will find that out tonight!

***
Last Friday I bought those yummie Sassafras papers, Tickled Pink, and I knew what to do! Feel a lot better, Spring Break is over, house is empty, so I could do my thing!
Some time ago my brother sent me some photos of his youngest, she got a new hat, and had to sit down and pose for a shoot my SIL wanted to do......
Photobucket

Well...... isn't this just the cutest face? And I totally love the pink/brown combination, gotta use that more often! So, thanks to a little shopping and a great photo, I found my MoJo again!

Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of the day!
