Travel.....

Finally I've got something to show and personally, I love it!
At the Mixed Media Divas group I'm a member of, I participated in a Spring Challenge. The group owner sends every participant a box filled with goodies, and gives you a challenge. For this one you had to use letters and numbers.

It took me a long time and almost some sleepless nights to come up with something, but after going to the Dollarama and finding this cute Shadow box, the plan started to take shape!
I've painted the box with Distress crackle paint Faded Jeans and added some Distress ink Tea Dye to accent the crackles. Some paintchips came of during that, but that looks kind of old/vintagy, so I didn't do anything about it. Glued some scrapbookpaper in the inside, added some pieces out of the goody box, (map and letter/number paper) cut some numbers out of bingo cards. After that I cut out the cute fairy and glued in on the side of the box. Then I started playing with the letters and numbers that were in the goody box but couldn't make the words I wanted to, so I used my own letter beads (good thing to never throw anything out!) and used Aleene's Tacky Glue for them. The moss and hummingbird I got at Walmart, and just had to use them, looks so darn cute!
The numbers inside the box, don't mean a lot to you, but mean everything to me, streetnumbers, birthdays, the number 17 which is the date we moved to Canada, a turning point in my life. 6 Numbers, moved 6 times in my life, "Travel with Me" is the journey I/we have made to come at the point in our lives where I/we feel good! (sounds kind of sentimentel, but that's how I feel it!)
Here some more detailed pictures.
The fairy.........

And the hummingbird.... love those and have them in my backyard sometimes too!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

And so you should be proud, it is a beautiful piece.
I often find the longer a piece of art takes to make the better it is once completed. I have a piece here that I started last Bank Holiday weekend (2 weeks ago) & until I know just what Im going to do with it next i am keeping it out of sight or i fear i will mess it up & i am loving how it looks right now!!!

I just love it! And yes...ofcourse things like this are making you sentimentel!
But you know the old song: A sentimental journey?
You touch the reality, girl!
I am proud of you!
